LBMA and World Gold Council to Host Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing Summit 2026 in London, Know the full Schedule here

Global leaders from the bullion, mining and precious metals industries are set to gather in London as The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) and the World Gold Council (WGC) is all set to jointly host the Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing Summit 2026 from June 17-19 at the Hilton London Tower Bridge. It is bringing together industry participants, regulators, refiners, civil society groups and policymakers to discuss the evolving sustainability and responsible sourcing landscape within the global precious metals sector.

According to the organizers, the summit will focus on how geopolitical developments and evolving regulations are reshaping expectations around sustainability, compliance and responsible sourcing practices across the bullion industry. Discussions during the event will centre on practical implementation strategies, emerging risks, collaborative partnerships and industry-led initiatives aimed at improving sourcing standards, particularly in high-risk and artisanal mining regions.

The summit agenda has been designed for stakeholders across the precious metals value chain including governments, regulators, refiners, miners, financial institutions and assurance providers.

Opening Session to Focus on Responsible Sourcing Challenges

The opening session titled “Why Dialogue Must Now Become Action” will feature remarks by Ruth Crowell, Chief Executive of LBMA, and David Tait, Chief Executive Officer of the World Gold Council.

The summit will also feature a keynote address by Dominic Raab, Head of Global Affairs at Appian Capital Advisory and Special Envoy to the World Gold Council, on the topic “Combatting Illicit Gold Flows: How Collective Failure and a Responsibility to Act Demands Coordinated Action.”

LBMA Highlights Industry Transparency Efforts

The announcement comes as LBMA continues expanding transparency initiatives across the bullion market. As of end-April 2026, London vaults held 9,372 tonnes of gold, representing a 0.35% monthly increase, valued at approximately USD 1.4 trillion or nearly 749,768 gold bars.

Silver holdings in London vaults stood at 27,454 tonnes, down 0.1% from the previous month, valued at approximately USD 64.9 billion and equivalent to around 915,122 silver bars. LBMA said publication of monthly vault holding data reflects the association’s continued commitment toward greater market transparency and timely disclosure.
