Gold Silver News: Silver prices surged sharply on Monday, breaching the ₹1,14,000 per kg mark on MCX for the first time ever. On COMEX, silver tested the $39 per ounce level in a volatile session, driven by geopolitical tensions, strong industrial demand, and expectations of escalating tariff conflicts.
In the international arena, all eyes are on U.S. President Donald Trump, who is expected to deliver a major statement on Russia. Trump confirmed the U.S. will send Patriot missile systems to Ukraine, stating, “Putin talks nice but then he bombs everybody in the evening.” The announcement reflects a growing rift between Washington and Moscow over Russia’s continuing offensive in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Russian and Chinese foreign ministers met to discuss the ongoing Ukraine conflict and the broader state of their diplomatic and economic relations with the United States. The meeting highlighted a rapidly shifting geopolitical order, with China playing a more vocal role.
In Congress, momentum is building behind a bipartisan bill that would impose new sanctions on Russia to pressure Moscow into meaningful peace negotiations. However, the bill awaits firm backing from President Trump, which lawmakers believe is crucial for final passage.
China’s Export Surge and Tariff Pressure
Adding to market momentum, China’s exports in June jumped 5.8% year-on-year in U.S. dollar terms, exceeding expectations of 5%, as exporters rushed to ship goods before the U.S. tariff hikes take effect in August. Imports rose 1.1%, marking the first positive growth of the year and signaling early signs of stabilizing domestic demand.
EU Holds Off on Tariff Response
In a related development, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union will extend its suspension of countermeasures against U.S. tariffs until early August. The pause aims to keep doors open for a negotiated resolution with the U.S., even as President Trump threatens to impose a 30% blanket tariff on all EU imports starting August 1.
Market Insights and Technical Outlook
Manoj Kumar Jain, Prithvi Finmart, noted:
“If U.S. President remains hawkish on trade tariffs, then gold and silver could continue to move upside in the upcoming sessions. We expect prices to remain volatile this week amid global financial market instability and U.S. trade uncertainties.”
- Gold is expected to hold support at $3,280 per ounce, with resistance seen at $3,384–3,400.
- Silver may find support at $38.60–38.20 and face resistance near $39.10–39.80.
- On MCX, gold has support at ₹97,440–₹97,000 and resistance at ₹98,280–₹98,850, while silver is supported at ₹1,11,850–₹1,10,500 with resistance at ₹1,14,000–₹1,16,500.
JM Financial provided a bullish forecast:
- “Gold momentum has turned positive with supports at ₹95,350/₹94,950, with upside potential towards ₹1,04,000. Silver remains positive with trailing supports at ₹1,09,500/₹1,05,900 and may test ₹1,20,000–₹1,25,000.”
On the currency front, USDINR is expected to consolidate between 84.50–86.05, while the U.S. Dollar Index faces resistance at 99.1 and downside potential toward 92.
SMC Global Securities forecasted:
- COMEX gold may trade between $3,250–$3,470, while silver may fluctuate in the $37–$42 range.
- Domestically, MCX gold could trade within ₹94,000–₹1,01,500, and silver between ₹1,04,000–₹1,14,000 this week.
Kedia Commodity added:
- “Immediate support for gold lies at ₹97,285, with further downside risk to ₹96,755. Resistance is at ₹98,210 and a breakout could push prices toward ₹98,605.”
- “Silver has support at ₹1,10,520 and deeper at ₹1,08,040, with resistance at ₹1,14,295. A breakout could lead prices toward ₹1,15,590.”
