Manoj Jain, Director in Prithvi Finmart and Research Head of Commodity and Currency says ”gold and silver showed very high volatility and slipped from their highs after better than expected U.S. ISM manufacturing PMI and construction spending data. The dollar index also gained amid expectations of further Fed rate hikes and eased safe haven demand of precious metals.” US Federal Reserve meeting is starting from today. The outcome of meeting will come on May 3.
Jain Said ”gold prices sustain below $2,000 per troy ounce and silver is also facing resistance around $25.80 per troy ounce in the international markets. The U.S. Fed’s stance on future rate hike plans and fresh developments on the U.S. banking crisis could be directional for precious metals.
Accordint to Kedia Advisory report ”Chinese dealers charged premiums of $2-$9 an ounce over global benchmark spot prices. Turkey’s central bank is offloading its gold reserves to help meet high domestic demand after curbing precious metals imports in February. The central bank’s data showed that gold reserves fell 9% in the last seven weeks. Turkey also sold 15 tonnes of gold in March, the World Gold Council reported”
Jain expect ”gold and silver prices to remain volatile in today’s session ahead of the U.S. Fed monetary policy meetings and gold could face steep resistance around $2022 per troy ounce and silver could also face resistance around $25.80 per troy ounce.”
Manoj Jain said ”gold has support at $1980-1968, while resistance at $2004-2022 per troy ounce. Silver has support at $25.00-24.65, while resistance is at $25.55-25.80 per troy ounce. At mcx, gold is having support at 59600-59330 and resistance at 59920-60100 while silver is having support at 74800-74450 and resistance at 75950-76600.” He suggest ”selling gold on rise around 59950 with a stop loss of 60180 for the target of 59450.”
