Gold Price Today: In the Sarafa market, gold and silver prices witnessed a sharp decline on March 21, 2026, compared to the previous trading session on March 20. This week, in the Sarafa market, gold and silver prices declined sharply from March 16 to March 21, 2026. The benchmark gold rate of 99.5 purity fell by Rs 12,500, dropping from Rs 1,61,500 to Rs 1,49,000. Other gold categories also remained under pressure. Silver prices too witnessed a significant correction, declining by Rs 29,500 from Rs 2,61,000 on March 16 to Rs 2,31,500 on March 21, reflecting broad weakness in the bullion market over the week.
In the international bullion market, precious metals recorded a steep fall this week. On Comex, gold fell by 565 dollars to 4,496, while silver dropped by 13.5 dollars to 67.8, indicating strong pressure in global precious metal prices.
A similar trend was seen in the domestic futures market, where on MCX, gold declined sharply by Rs 13,641 to 1,44,825, and silver plunged by Rs 31,965 to 2,27,470 during the same period, reflecting broad-based weakness across both international and Indian bullion markets.
